In case the issue still persists after installing the latest video card driver for your computer which was advised by our MVP, please provide us the log files from the affected computer. I’ve opened a private message in this thread where you can upload log files. The instructions on how to gather the log files were also provided in the private message. 1. Perform Windows Update
2. Uninstall Essentials by following the steps within this link .
3. Delete the following files for a clean installation:
C:\Program Files\Windows Live
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live
C:\Program Files(x86)\Windows Live
C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Windows Live
4. Disable firewall (enable your firewall after installation is done).
5. Reset browser to factory settings.
6. Reinstall Windows Essentials:

Method 1: Run DirectX diagnostic tool
Movie Maker makes extensive use of the video card GPU (graphics processing unit). The display driver affects the reliability, performance, and compatibility of the video card with various software.
To determine the version and video card driver date, run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag):
1. Click on Start button and type dxdiag in the Search programs and files box and press Enter key on the keyboard.
2. Click on the Display tab and you will see the driver details including the driver version.
Now, update Graphics Card and check if it helps. Follow the steps to update the Graphics Card drivers:
