Introduction
Locale Emulator is a tool similar to AppLocale and NTLEA, providing a simulation function that can make an application recognize your OS as in a language other than the real one. It is quite useful when you are trying to play country-specific games.
Installation
Fresh installation
- Install as current user: effect for current user only, does not require administrator privileges;
- Install for all users: the most reliable choice, require administrator privileges;
- Portable: necessary files have been extracted as LEInstaller.exe starts. Simply close the window.
Upgrade
- Download the executable from Github or from MEGA, extract and overwrite all files of the old version.
- Run LEInstaller.exe and click the correct “Install” button (the one you have chosen before). If you are not sure which one to choose, simply uninstall and install again (restart is not required during this process).
Uninstallation
- Run LEInstaller.exe and click all not-grey “Uninstall” buttons.
- Reboot your computer and delete all Locale Emulator files.
System Requirement
Locale Emulator is compatible with the following systems, both 32 and 64-bit:
- Windows 7 with Service Pack 1
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10
Locale Emulator supports 32-bit executables running on both 32-bit or 64-bit systems. For example, if you are using 64-bit WinRAR, you will not see the context menu on a RAR file unless you swapped 64-bit WinRAR with the 32-bit version.
Common installation problems
Google Chrome is blocking the download.
Please go to the “Downloads” page ( chrome://downloads/ ) and select “Recover file”.
My antivirus software reports that LocaleEmulator.dll is a virus.
Make sure that you have downloaded the binary from the official website. You can ignore that warning if everything is okay.
Locale Emulator 是运行在 Windows 7/8/8.1/10 及以上系统下的一个软件，可以提供类似 NTLEA 和 AppLocale 的转区功能：即将系统区域设置（包括语言，时区，代码页等）虚拟为目标系统（例如日本区域）。乐观来讲，使用本工具加载运行的程序会把你的系统错认为所模拟的系统。这在运行很多限制地区发行的程序（例如 Galgame 或网游）时十分有用，免去了手动切换区域之苦。
- 为当前用户安装 / Install as current user：只对当前用于有效，不需要管理员权限；
- 为所有用户安装 / Install for all users：对本机所有用户有效，需要管理员权限；
- 绿色版 / Portable：Locale Emulator运行所需的文件在运行 LEInstaller.exe 的时候已经准备好了，关闭此窗口即可使用。
- 从 Github 或 MEGA 下载最新版本，解压到旧版目录并覆盖所有旧版文件。
- 运行 LEInstaller.exe 并选择正确的 “安装 / Install” 按钮（即以前安装 Locale Emulator 时的按钮）。如果你不确定当时选了哪个，就把所有能点的 “卸载 / Uninstall” 按钮点一遍，然后再安装（此过程中不需重启）。
- 运行 LEInstaller.exe 并把所有能点的 “卸载 / Uninstall” 按钮点一遍。
- 重启计算机之后删除所有 Locale Emulator 相关的文件。
Locale Emulator 兼容 32 和 64 位的以下系统：
- Windows 7 with Service Pack 1
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10
Locale Emulator 只支持 32 和 64 位系统下的 32 位程序。换句话说，如果你装了 64 位的 WinRAR，那么在 RAR 文件上是不会出现右键菜单的——除非你换用 32 位 WinRAR。

Can we merge locale emulator with a game forever so that we don’t need to have the software anymore?
You need to ask the game’s publisher to do that for you. Or you can call LE by a BAT script while in portable mode. Double-click LEProc.exe to see how to write the script.
I’m trying to do this atm, not working out. Not sure if I’m doing this correctly but this is my script:
I copied LEProc.exe to the game folder, ran this bash. Nothing happens. I tried renaming the standard leproc.exe to LEProc.exe but it makes no difference.

I have AVG antivirus but I tried doing it again with antivirus turned off and it didnt make a difference
Sorry but I don’t know anything that can cause C0070002 error. I would suggest you reinstall the OS and try again — if that is possible.
(for future users) the problem is here:
Commands: «D:YoriLocale.Emulator.2.4.1.0MakingLovers.exe»
That means the commad line args are improperly processed. One way to work around that is by using the command from the folder that LEProc is located (or at least it worked for me)
you don’t need copied LEProc.exe to the game folder
just use absolute path to LE and the game it self in BAT file

I try reinstall many time, but without any progresse
I start to uninstall him, and after that, restart my computer
When i come back, i install local emulator again (But this time, i install him on «All user» and note only me)
And when i try to launch an exe .. it’s worked

so I messed something up idk what I did but I dont know how i can fix it but some of my programs are showing up in Japanese and i have tried uninstalling the emulator multiple times and I did it wrong so now im pretty sure its permanently screwed up is there a way i can fix it like editing registry files or something?
You must have installed AppLocale which messed up your system. Try the solution from Wikipedia by following the link below.
AppLocale is ancient. DO NOT use it ever again.

I recently also tried to use it to tell a game to start with a different language, but it didn’t work. Example is the steam game Castle of Illusion, which is available in several languages, but you cannot choose the language inside the game or anywhere. It just uses the OS language. (Supposedly Windows setting «Region and Language -> Formats -> Format: Desired Language»)
Is this something Locale Emulator is able to do? I tried the settings in the locale emulator profile for the game exe, but it didn’t change anything.
Try enabling «Fake UI language» in LEGUI. It might work.
The error c0000142 keeps coming and I’ve install and uninstall LE and rebooting for few times but it still doesn’t work. I’ve also uninstalled all the antivirus applications too.

All. They all ended up popping the c0000142 window out and stopped working.

Do a full uninstallation and install again. Turn off any HIPS or antivirus software.
the program works great, finally i can leave the applocale (to be honest long time ago isnt working anymore) but i have a problem, i need to execute a korean game that its launched in browser (IE, chrome, etc) when i try to use the emulator on chrome, nothing happens even cant open, i downloaded opera 32bits done can open whit emulator, but when launches the game the launcher it still show alot of nonsense letters and numbers, i tried alot of thing and still cant make it work

Nothing can LE do in this case. You have to change the system region to Korea.

Does LE work with games that uses a launcher? For example you login with a launcher and then the launcher starts the game process. Can LE hook APIs related to creating processes and work on such games?
It depends. Try running the launcher with LE and as admin then you will know.

在失われた未来を求めて 初回限定版的DVD裡有兩個主要檔案

Locale Emulator 可以跑非管理員模式, 來啟動但是選擇安裝的時候（應該是跑setup.exe）跳出來的視窗全都是亂碼
Locale Emulator 跑管理員模式的話程式一定當掉
使用LE 2.4.1.0把DLL換成normal user後可以管理員模式啟動setup.exe不會當掉
但若是啟動startup.exe後選擇安裝遊戲依然是亂碼

Hi, Locale emulator is not working for me. I right-clicked and used LE on the side-menu but the game still shows up with random numbers and gibberish. I remember LE working for me a while back with the same game (Nobunaga’s ambition: Tendou). Is there any fix for this? I’m using windows 10 and it’s version 1903 (not sure if that’s the problem). I have the newest version of LE (just downloaded)

I’m having the same issue as MFNumeric and lalafa. Here are more specifics:
Originally installed Locale Emulator v2.4.0.0 in Windows 10 1803 and worked perfectly. Continued working well after updating Win10 to 1809 and 1903. Then I updated to LE 2.4.1.0 under Win 10 1903; still worked fine. Then updated Windows 10 to 1909; Locale Emulator v2.4.1.0 still worked fine for all programs.
However, I’ve just built a new system with a fresh install of Windows 10 1909. Locale emulator v2.4.1.0 works for some, but not all programs that previously worked. The affected programs create a crash.dump file for each attempt named as such in their respective folders:

用Locale Emulator轉區後，
凡是指定安裝路徑的步驟 ，
點選Browse不會跳出選擇路徑的視窗，直接毫無反應
沒轉區直接點開則可以正常選擇安裝路徑
在 修改次程序的配置->建立快捷方式 后，
如何在建立快捷方式后不立即运行？
因为我想用不同的沙箱运行这个快捷方式，并不想立即运行导致污染机器的注册表和配置。

I wonder if Locale Emulator could be portably bundled with any software that require dynamic system locale changes. I made my own software that rely to system locale, and using this software will be made it really really eficient. Please, of course i will wrote down you as my program support 🙂

Locale Emulator is LGPL licensed, so you can bundle it to your software but as individual files. From Wikipedia: «A standalone executable that dynamically links to a library through a .so, .dll, or similar medium is generally accepted as not being a derivative work as defined by the LGPL»

打开LElnstaller之后点了Install for current user 后就出现了一串英文，大概是安装完成的提示，可是点了OK之后就什么都没有，没有出现 “Locale Emulator” 选项

Hello, I installed it from my downloads folder, and now I want to move it. Windows won’t let me cause the program is running; how can I quit it temporarily? or do I have to uninstall it before? thanks!
