Now that you know about iWeb is lets get deeper down into the iWeb features.
Designing a website may seem difficult, but with iWeb, it’s easily within your reach. Create your site using themes. Customize it with photos, movies, text, and widgets. iWeb even notifies Facebook when your site changes and adds a link to your profile so your friends stay up to date.
Design the Website
A Mac and iWeb. That’s all you need to design and publish your own personal website. Start by picking an Apple-designed theme. Each theme comes with coordinated fonts, backgrounds, and colors to give your site a consistent look throughout.
Next choose a page template. iWeb features ready-made templates for welcome, about me, photo album, movie, blog, and podcast pages. Create as many pages as you like.
Then it’s time to customize your layout with easy-to-use iWeb tools. Drag in photos or movies or type text into placeholders. Resize and rotate photos. Create overlays. There’s no coding required. No complicated design programs to buy. No obstacles between you and a great-looking website.
Add Your Media
You keep photos in iPhoto. You edit movies in iMovie. You create songs in GarageBand. iWeb gives you great ways to share those photos, movies, and songs on your own website.

Notify Facebook Friends of your update
iWeb uploads only your changes when you publish, so you’ll enjoy quick site updates. iWeb will even notify your Facebook friends when you update your site. Simply link any iWeb site to your Facebook account. Following an update, iWeb adds the changes to your profile, alerting your friends and providing them with a handy link.

iWeb 3.0
iWeb — the easiest way to create and publish your webpage. The program has a very nice interface and using it is very simple. In fact, it is so simple, that anyone can create a website in just one full day or in a couple of hours, in case they already have materials cut out.
Apple, once again, was able to impress with its product. The program is very well designed and quite simple to use. Right from the beginning, the program asks you to choose a theme for your page. There are templates for your travels, special occasions, kids, and some generic colors and lines (Modern or Fine Lines for example). Pretty much that’s the last tough choice you have to make for your website, most other complicated stuff will be done by software itself.
The program allows you create a website as you would create your scrap book page. You can do whatever you want, and the program will know exactly how to convert it into a webpage code. The program includes many widgets — for example you can create a map of an event took place and describe it below. iWeb will help you in just two-three clicks post that map on your page. Since the map is from the Google maps, then it is also interactive — visitors can have the ability to zoom in and out. In just one click and copy and paste action, you can have a YouTube clip «implanted» on your webpage.
Bottom line: In short, I am amazed. This program makes creating website extremely easy. I think I will try to create a website with this program, rather than using other program with half the functionality. Oh, and iWeb is part of the iLife package, which also includes sych great products as iMovie, iPhoto, and GarageBand.

Для того, чтобы начать работать с программой необходимо просто ее запустить на ПК Apple. Готовые шаблоны веб-страниц (страница об авторе, блог, фотостраница и др.) и виджеты помогут создать персональный сайт за несколько минут. Интерфейс программы и ее логика напоминает создание презентации. Для наполнения веб-страниц контентом вы можете использовать файлы из родственных программ Apple: iPhoto (фотографии), iMovie (видеоматериалы), GarageBand и iTunes (музыку), что ускоряет процесс создания веб-страницы. После наполнения веб-страниц контентом необходимо выполнить функцию «Опубликовать» после чего вы сможете посетить ресурс.
Для создания персонального сайта с помощью ПО iWeb 2009 необходимо иметь:
- ПК Apple (Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro)
- пакет мультимедийных программ iLife 2009
- доступ в интернет
- хостинг (MobileMe или любой др. через FTP)
Особенности iWeb
- Создание сайта на базе шаблонов, входящих в комплект поставки
- Интеграция программы с другим ПО Apple, в частности другим ПО пакета iLife, позволяющая в визуальном режиме создавать разделы-фотоальбомы публикацией альбомов iPhoto
- Интеграция программы с сервисом Apple MobileMe, при этом созданные средствами iWeb сайты используют сервисы MobileMe для как для работы с контентом (использование пользовательских галерей MoileMe), так и для обеспечения дополнительной функциональности сайта (добавление комментариев других пользователей)
- Публикация на Apple MobileMe и локальном web-сервере, с версии пакета iLife ’09 добавлена возможность загрузки по протоколу ftp на другие Web-сервера
