Hold’em Manager for Mac
There is no Hold’em Manager for Mac, but.
Poker Copilot is the Mac software that Hold’em Manager users have been looking for. Download a free 30-day trial now.
Poker players have been asking for a Mac version of Hold’em Manager for years. At one point it seemed likely, but eventually the Hold’em Manager team stated publicly that they couldn’t find suitable software developers for Mac. According to the Hold’em Manager team,
«Hold’em Manager for Mac is not in the works.»
. Poker Copilot for Mac is a great alternative
Poker Copilot is an alternative to Hold’em Manager that does run on Mac.
Why you should use Poker Copilot as your Hold’em Manager alternative on Mac:
- Poker Copilot is poker tracking software that runs natively on Mac. It offers a poker HUD, a hand tracker, a hand replayer, and leak detectors.
- Poker Copilot is native Mac software that feels natural to poker players accustomed to Mac software. Familiar with iTunes? With Mac’s Finder? With Apple’s Mail app? Then you’ll be comfortable using Poker Copilot’s Mac-style user interface.
- Poker Copilot on Mac is faster and smoother than Hold’em Manager on Windows. It uses less disk space, less CPU, and less memory.
- Poker Copilot includes all features, all poker variants, and all stake levels for one price. Hold’em Manager charges you more if you move up from the microstakes; Hold’em Manager charges you more if you want to play on Omaha as well as Hold’em; Hold’em Manager charges you more if you want to use the leak detectors. With Poker Copilot, pay once, get everything.
pokersoftware.com’s review of Hold’em Manager states:
«Unfortunately for Mac users, Hold’em Manager will not run on the native macOS and there are no immediate plans to develop this capability.»
Here’s what pokersoftware.com says about Poker Copilot:
Poker Copilot is one of the top choices for running a tracking and analysis program on an OS X operating system. The Poker Copilot brand has been around and trusted for many years.
One of our customers told us:
«It was between you and Hold’em Manager 2. At the end of the day, I preferred how simple Poker Copilot is. And this is coming from someone who is always on the computer. I would have had to spend hours on Hold’em Manager 2 to understand how half the program worked.»

HM2 and TN for MAC OS: potential data release and any restrictions?
I am about to buy a new notebook. I chose between Asus Zenbook Prime [W7/8] and Apple MBP Retina [Mac OS]. So I badly need a certain understanding of that if:
— there will be a HM2 for OS and if ‘Yes’ so when its gonna be released?
— there will be a Table Ninja for OS and if ‘Yes’ when its gonna be revealed?
Also I would like to know if there are some restrictions or limitations [which are clear now on the stage of development] in comparison to Window versions of mentioned utilities.
P.S. Could U also suggest the best program for OS to control the poker stats.

HoldemManager won’t run on the native Mac OSX. You’ll have to run it via Parallels/Bootcamp/VMWare in a virtual Windows environment.
We have plans for a HM2 Mac OSX version, but no work on development has started yet.
There also are no plans for a TableNinja for Mac OSX.
If you need a poker tracker on Mac OSX, best thing to do is to run HoldemManager in a virtual Windows environment. or just run Windows on the Mac. (Mac with Intel CPU can do this).
The advantage of this is some pokerrooms only have a Windows client. And many third party pokersoftware only supports Windows.
Alternatively you can run PokerTracker on Mac OSX.

HM2 and PostgreSQL Installation
Download HoldemManager and follow the instructions in the setup wizard to install Holdem Manager. PostrgeSQL is the database Holdem Manager uses. If it is already installed, it will be greyed out during the setup process. Otherwise, it will be selected by default and installed as part of the setup wizard process. If your installing PostgreSQL for the first time just follow the steps choosing the defaults.
HM2 automatically checks if PostgreSQL is installed
Setup Wizard
Installing your database on an SSD drive can make a significant speed and performance improvement, especially for larger database
After creating a new database the setup wizard is finished and you are ready to start. The first thing you will likely want to do is import your hands. In the Home or Reports tab go to «Hand Importing» in the ribbon under Options. Under Manual Hand Import select either Import Files or Import Folder and import your hand histories.
Then you can start exploring the reports section of HM2. For further information feel free to explore the HM2 FAQs

PostgreSQL Troubleshooting
If you experience issues connecting to, or starting, PostgreSQL try the following solutions:
1 — Make sure windows is up to date. Older patches have known issues that cause problems with PostgreSQL.
2 — Ensure the necessary services are enabled. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Make sure «Secondary Logon» and «PostgreSQL» services are started and configured to Startup type: Automatic.
3 — Try using the reset password option on the PostgreSQL connection screen in HM2. Postgrespass is the default password HM2 uses. If you initially installed PostgreSQL with Pokertracker the password might be dbpass or you might have chosen a personal password.
Use HM2’s reset password option
4 — Delete Postmaster.pid file from: C:\PostgreSQL\data or C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data\postmaster.pid The file might not be there. DONT DELETE ANY FILES WITH SIMILAR NAMES
Delete the postmaster.pid file
5 — Make sure your running HoldemManager as an admin by following these instructions.
6 — Temporarily uninstall your Antivirus & Firewall software including Windows Defender. Do not ignore this, as it is very often the issue. You can always reinstall them later. Here is a useful FAQ for configuring security software for the major brands.
If you still continue to have issues try following all the steps in the PostgreSQL FAQ
Missing hands and import errors
Update to the latest version
Reimport Your Hands
Try reimporting the hand histories: Go to C:\HM2Archive and search for the folders for the days Holdem Manager missed. The archive should be organized by Site, then by Year\Month\Day (example: C:\HM2Archive\Pokerstars\2014\02\09)
Holdem Manager archives all the hands into C:/HM2archive
Then tick the option to «Force import of previously imported hands». This option tells Holdem Manager to reimport the hands even if they were skipped in the past due to an import error that was since resolved.
Import previously imported hands
In some cases the hands may also be in the poker sites default hand history folder so also try reimporting hands from those locations. If you notice a large amount of hands in any of the poker sites hand history folders then check if archiving is on. If archiving is not on it can cause performance issues when too many hands build in the poker sites hand history folders.
Create a New Database
If the problem still persists after the above steps, try creating a new database and reimport all your hands as explained in the previous step.
A — Choose your database name
B — Choose the database path where the database files will be stored. If you have an SSD drive use that to improve speed and performance and always make sure the path will have enough space to maintain a growing database.
C — Make this the default database if this will be the database you plan to use most often.
Sometimes a database can become corrupt. If the hands are showing in the new database but not the old one, export all your hands from the old database and import the hands into the new database. Then continue to use the new database.
Note: If you have any import errors please zip (right-click > send to > compressed folder) and attach the problem hand histories when submitting a ticket.
Holdem Manager support needs the original hands as the exported hands also export the errors and do not us see the original issue. Find these in the poker site hand history folder or in the archive. See above for details on finding hands in the archive.

Inaccurate Reports or missing hands
If your reports are innacurate or you are missing hands try the following steps:
Update to the latest version
Clear Filters
First select Clear Filters. If you have several reports open and want to clear all the filters across all reports then also click the «Apply to all Reports» icon. Now see if the hands show up when you refresh it. Try more than 1 report to confirm.
Clear Filters, use Apply to all Reports to clear filters across all reports
Game Type Filters
Beside the Date Range and More Filters is the Game Type filter. Make sure all games or the specific games are correctly selected. For example, make sure that Omaha is not selected when trying to view Holdem hands or vice versa.

Currency Issues
If there are inconsistencies when using more than 1 currency please see this FAQ. It may be that the wrong currency is being viewed.
Note: If you have any import errors please zip (right-click > send to > compressed folder) and attach the problem hand histories when submitting a ticket.
Holdem Manager support needs the original hands as the exported hands also export the errors and do not allow us to see the original issue. Find these in the poker site hand history folder or in the archive. See above for details on finding hands in the archive.
Setup HM to work with your Poker Site
Site Setup
Select «Site Setup» from Home or Reports ribbon.
Site setup under the Options section of the ribbon
Select Poker Site
Configure Auto Import Folders
Poker sites save hand histories to your hard drive. Holdem Manager then reads this information. In the vast majority of cases we can auto detect the location the poker site stores them. In the unlikely event it does not detect it, first make sure you have played a few hands and click the Auto Detect button.
Holdem Manager can auto detect the poker sites hand history path in many cases
If it still is not picking up the site, proceed to manually add the folder location by clicking the + (add) button. Then add the location of the folder the hand histories are located in.
Adjust Auto Import Times
Often the hands are imported with the poker sites server times which will differ to your time.
We can automatically convert the time to your local time for your convenience. Again, we can auto detect this for you by clicking the Auto Detect button or you can manually adjust to suit.
Holdem Manager can often automatically detect the timezone of the poker site
Preferred Seating Setup
Most of the poker sites allow you to pick preferred seat position that will be used for every poker table you sit at. Use this option to set your preferred seat position for each of the table types. If you hover over the ? icon, it will show you how seats are positioned for each poker site and table type. Then you can select the seat you sit in. If you do not use preferred seating then you can skip this step.
