Autochk program not found skipping autocheck windows 7 при загрузке

Windows 7 pro x64: Autochk program not found. Skipping autocheck.

Recently removed a partition and intended to overwrite the mbr so that the only OS to use on this drive is win 7 pro. Used the install disk did a startup repair, it looked like it completed. On reboot met with the above mentioned error. Can’t find fixboot or fixmbr on the dvd, so don’t know how to re-do the mbr again which might help or might not.

Autochk.exe exists in System32 and SysWOW64 folders, so I think it’s there, but I don’t know why it’s not booting 🙁

Check your hard disk for errors from Windows recovery environment .

i. Put the Windows installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

ii. Press a key when you are prompted.

iii. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click next.

iv. Click Repair your computer.

v. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click next.

vi. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.

Here are the steps to perform chkdsk:

i. In the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk /R X:

ii. Note: In this command, X: is a placeholder that represents the drive letter of the volume that you want to check.

iii. Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk the next time that the system restarts.

iv. Restart the computer.

Note: During the restart process, Windows checks the disk for errors, and then Windows starts.
